The Gambia 2003A few days in The GambiaArrival (12 June 2003) Friday (13 June) Comments Arrival (12 June 2003)After the day's journey, stepping into the Ngala Lodge was somewhat of a culture shock. My room was actually a large suite, with an entry way, a living room, bedroom, and a spacious bath. The living room opened up to a private garden, with a path beyond that winding down to the ocean. I threw my bags down by the bedside, and walked down to the bar. Surprisingly, the first person I saw was Vasee, for whose wedding I had come all this way. He and his wife Caroline were there, making final arrangements for the dinner. After a quick greeting, we went off to have dinner at a nearby restaurant. After that, they dropped me back at the lodge, and I fell asleep for a long night's rest.Friday (13 June)Friday I mostly relaxed around the hotel and ran errands in Serekunda.CommentsLoading comments...
